Wish you were here! Kleinwalsertal / Vorarlberg Kleinwalsertal is part of the Austrian state of Vorarlberg and can only be reached via the town of Oberstdorf which is in the Allgäu region of Germany. An area like this is usually referred to as an ‘enclave’ in geographical terms. We, on the other hand, prefer to describe it as a truly beautiful valley on the northern edge of the Alps. Despite its position on the outer edge of Central Europe’s biggest mountain range, the valley is still surrounded by an impressive collection of high mountains. You will never fail to be impressed by the fabulous panoramic views of the 36 imposing mountain peaks that rise over 2,500 metres above sea level. Your eyes will be drawn to the unusual features of the Hohen Ifen and the Widderstein mountain peaks which stand proudly above their neighbours. Whether you prefer to climb or just look, there are no limits to the types of adventures you can enjoy in an area where you can enjoy the best of two countries!
